James “Jim” Edward Bullock

July 20, 1932 – February 5, 2022

James “Jim” Edward Bullock, 89, a resident of Oolitic for 54 years, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Autumn Trace Bedford Assisted Living.

He was born July 20, 1932, in Bedford, to Ivan and Cletis Lewis Bullock. He was married to Sally Drehobl for 60 years and she survives. Jim graduated from Bedford High School with the class of 1951, excelling in sports. He served in the U. S. Navy for four years on the USS Iowa as a Boiler Tender. He became a gifted tool maker and was employed by Crane. He was also an extraordinary woodworker. The family has benefitted from his woodworking skills with many beautiful pieces of furniture. Jim was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion.

Surviving to cherish Jim’s memory is his wife, Sally of Oolitic; sons, Mike (Denise) and Mark (Rita), both of Brownsburg, and Kevin (Kathleen) of Oolitic; grandchildren, Katie (Dan) of Evansville, Leah of Indianapolis, Nathan of Chicago, Kristine of Plainfield, Rich of Brownsburg and Sarah and Olivia of Oolitic.

Preceding Jim in death were his parents; and sister, Joanne Boling.

A private funeral service will be held for the family.

Jim’s care and services have been entrusted to the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes of Bedford.
