First baby born at new IU Health Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON – IU Health Bloomington Labor & Delivery team is proud to announce that the first baby has been born at the new hospital.

Parents Naomi and Miguel Ramirez welcomed their child Nahla shortly after 11 am on Sunday, Dec. 5, and are happy to report that mom and baby are doing well.

“We are excited to welcome the first newborn that was delivered at the new IU Health Bloomington,” said IU Health South Central Region President Brian Shockney. “It was an exciting time and I enjoyed the opportunity to visit with the newborn and her parents. I wish them all the best!”
