Bedford City Council approves zoning change for 65 unit apartment complex

BEDFORD – Bedford City Council approved the third and final passage of a zoning change for Travis Vencel – TWG Development LLC. from a B-3 to R-3. This will allow a 65 multi-family unit apartment complex to be built at the former Georges Gateway location at 2201 M Street.

In other business:

  • Approved the tax abatement from Larry Cuba with NANLEE Company in Bedford. The company is in compliance with the agreement for the abatement
  • Conflict of interest was approved for Justin Spires and Jeremy Nolan
  • Approved a donation to the Men’s Warming Shelter in the amount of $25,000 also known as Stone City Alliance for Recovery and Hope. The donation will be made this year, as there was enough in this year’s budget to meet the request.

Prior to the city council meeting, a public hearing was held for the public to respond to the proposed 2022 budget. The proposed budget for the city council is at $19.7 million with proposed salary increases for the police officers and firefighters.
