“Rockin On The River for LIFE” raises awareness and $930 Saturday

BEDFORD – The Bedford Boat and Sportman’s Club “Rockin On The River For LIFE” was able to raise $930 for the LIFE Food Pantry on Saturday.

The band ” The Impasse” plays Saturday afternoon at ” Rockin on the River for LIFE”.

In addition, to raising the funds, the group was able to fill up containers of non-perishable food supplies for the organization.

“We have held this event for the last six years to help LIFE. We are a member-owned and operated organization and we try to help several organizations in this community. We are proud to be able to help LIFE who has a proven track record of helping our community,” said Sally-Ann Taylor one of the organizers of the Bedford Boat and Sportsmans Club.

Several vendors sold various products that ranged from food and clothing. Four bands also volunteered their time to come and help a worthy cause.

Attendees had a good time of meeting new and old friends at ” Rockin on the River for LIFE”.

The LIFE Food Pantry originated in 1987, thanks to several churches that combined their efforts to make sure families in need of assistance received the help they needed. Lawrence InterFaith Endeavor helps provides a lifeline for those struggling and in need of food and/or personal care products.

Many containers were filled with food and personal care items Saturday helping LIFE stock their pantry with supplies.

Life is supported by more than 40 churches throughout Lawrence County. In addition, LIFE sponsors “LIFE Blessings”. LIFE provides students with bag of nutritional food on Fridays to take home to help with any food insecurity.

Life provides emergency food assistance to a family every thirty days in addition to emergency rent or mortgage/utility assistance. The food pantry delivers more than 12,000 items each month to families in need in Lawrence County.
