BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested Sunday after they were requested to respond to a home in the 1320 block of 21st Street after a report of a man in the caller’s garage.
When police arrived they spoke to a male who reported the person was in his garage and stolen items.
The incident was captured on video. The man was seen putting headphones in his pocket and taking a VTech smartwatch.
The male then came to the front of the house and asked about a workbench and if it was for sale.
The male then took off walking east on 21st Street.
Officers located 40-year-old William Caudill under a garage port in the 1300 block of 21st Street. On the table next to where William had been sitting officers located the VTech watch and the white headphones.
Caudill told police he thought the resident was having a yard sale and admitted to going into the garage and admitting to taking the items.
Williams was arrested on charges of burglary and theft.
