IU Health LifeLine integration expands EMS services in south-central Indiana

BLOOMINGTON – The IU Health South Central Region (SCR) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team will integrate with Indiana University Health LifeLine on July 1, 2021. This integration will make Indiana University Health LifeLine the largest EMS provider in the state and one of the most comprehensive EMS programs in the nation. 

The IU Health SCR EMS serves Monroe, Orange, and Lawrence counties with 911 emergency medical services (EMS), advanced life support, basic life support, and assisted medical transport. IU Health LifeLine has six critical care bases, five helicopters and provides 911 EMS services, advanced life support, and basic life support in more than seven Indiana counties.   

911 EMS services to Monroe, Orange and Lawrence county will not be interrupted during the transition.

The integration of the IU Health SCR EMS team with LifeLine will streamline systems, equipment, operations, and the standard of care for patients. The integration will also provide south-central hospitals and providers expanded medical transport services.
