Orleans Silent Auction begins June 30th

ORLEANS – The Orleans Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its popular Orleans Silent Auction in conjunction with this year’s upcoming Orleans Homecoming Celebration.

Silent Auction items will be on display daily at the Orleans Christian Church’s Unity Hall beginning Wednesday, June 30th through Noon on Saturday, July 3rd.

A large array of unique and interesting items is expected to be available for bidding this year.

Hours for the special community event will be Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.  Saturday hours will be 9 a.m. to Noon.   The auction will close and all bids received by NOON on July 3rd.

The Silent Auction typically serves as the Chamber’s main fundraiser of the year.  Normally held during the Dogwood Festival the auction had to be canceled this spring due to the pandemic.

Donations are still being accepted from Orleans area businesses.  You may drop your donated items off at the Orleans Town office, J & S Sportswear, mail your donation to the Chamber’s address, or request a pickup from one of the chairpersons listed below. Be sure to attach your business card or name to your donated item so the Chamber can help promote and spotlight your business during the event. All contributors will be recognized for their donations in area newspapers and on area radio stations, and on social media.

Proceeds will benefit the Chamber’s various community improvement projects including flower plantings, planters, street banners, benches, planting of dogwoods, and seasonal decorations for historic Congress Square and the annual Christmas on the Square, which is free to the children and residents in the community.
