Two bridge closures expected in Marion County in July

MARION CO. – Two bridges over I-465 in southern Marion County are scheduled to close next month. The existing Keystone Avenue and Mooresville Road Bypass bridges will be demolished and fully reconstructed during the extended closures. No demolition work will happen over live traffic.

Both the Keystone Avenue and Mooresville Road Bypass bridges are expected to close on or after Monday, July 19. The Keystone Avenue bridge is expected to be closed for up to 120 days. The Mooresville Road Bypass bridge will be closed for up to 90 days.

There will also be an initial traffic shift on I-465 as crews install additional barrier wall to protect workers in the median. Drivers should stay alert and slow down in the area. Detour routes will be in place. Drivers who typically use the Keystone Avenue bridge will cross I-465 using the Madison Avenue bridge. Drivers north of the Keystone closure will use East Hanna Avenue and Shelby Street to reach the Madison Avenue bridge.

Drivers to the south of the Keystone closure will use Thompson Road to reach Madison Avenue. Click here to see a larger version of the detour map.
