Man injured after crashing motorcycle

MITCHELL – A North Judson man was injured after he crashed his motorcycle on Lawrenceport Road about 2,700 feet from the intersection of Gresham Road.

According to a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report, 51-year-old Glenn Smith complained of body pain to his entire body.

Police say Smith was traveling at a high-rate of speed on his Suzuki GSXR 750W when he entered a right curve on Lawrenceport Road. He attempted to apply the brakes causing him to lose control of the motorcycle. Smith crossed the center line, left the roadway and was ejected from the motorcycle into a field.

When police and first responders arrived, Smith was alert and orientated.

He was transported to IU Health Hospital Bloomington for treatment.

His motorcycle was left with two other males he was riding with to be trailered from the scene by a private party.
