Commission for Higher Education’s Communications Team makes promotions and welcomes new hire

(INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Commission for Higher Education today announces three promotions and a new hire to its communications team. Included in the promotions is a newly appointed associate commissioner.

Charlee Beasor 

Charlee Beasor will take on the role of associate commissioner for communications and outreach. Beasor has been with the Commission since June 2019 where she began as the communications director. In her new role, Beasor will lead the Commission’s communications and outreach team while overseeing internal and external communications and student, school, and community outreach efforts. Beasor was formally approved by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education at its May 13, 2021 meeting.

Liz Walker

Liz Walker is the assistant commissioner and chief strategy officer, a new position for the organization. Walker began her career with the Commission in October 2013 and has been involved with communicating the agency’s strategic plan since September 2018. Walker develops and implements various projects, programs, and initiatives that advance the priorities established by the Commission’s strategic plan and the legislature.

Jess Nejad 

Jess Nejad will take on the role of communications and marketing director. Nejad began her career with the Commission in October 2015 and joined the agency’s communications team in May 2017. Within her new role, Nejad is responsible for overseeing the alignment and execution of marketing and communications initiatives for the agency.

Allison Kuehr is newly hired as the Commission’s communications and public relations manager. Prior to joining the agency, Kuehr was Work and Learn Indiana’s (formerly Indiana INTERNnet) assistant director. In her role, Kuehr will develop communications and public relations activities on behalf of the Commission, serving as spokesperson and media contact.

“The Commission’s communications and outreach team provides the backbone for the implementation of our strategic plan and mission, including building awareness for our efforts throughout the state,” said Indiana Commissioner for Higher Education Teresa Lubbers. “Through Charlee’s leadership and a team of communications experts, the Commission and the higher education community will be well served.”
