Brystin Brown Benefit Ride takes off from Oolitic VFW Saturday

OOLITIC – A benefit ride on Saturday at the Oolitic VFW will benefit 17-year-old Brystin Brown who suffered serious injuries in a vehicle accident on April 5.

Brown was traveling east on East Oolitic Road when he met another vehicle at the crest of a hill and both vehicles collided. After the collision, Brown’s 2006 Pontica G6 then struck a mailbox.

Brown was rushed to a local hospital and then transferred to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. 

According to family members, Brown suffered two broken hips, a fractured pelvis, a ruptured spleen, and a collapsed lung. He underwent numerous surgeries to repair his injuries.

Registration is from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Oolitic VFW on Veterans Drive. Kick stands are up at 11:30 a.m.

The cost is $20 per bike with a passenger, $25 a car load and $5 for a meal ticket.

The ride will be 100 plus miles.

There will also be a silent auction, live band and more.

All proceeds will be used to pay for Brown’s medical expenses.
