Michael Parker Memorial benefit set for June 19

BEDFORD – Michael and Charity Parker were in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, May 22, 2021.

Michael passed away. Charity was flown by helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital. Charity has had multiple surgeries which include removing her spleen, removing her left kidney, and an external fixator on her pelvis.

The Parkers have two daughters, Madison, 16, and Michaela, 13. Michael would be so proud to see how the community has pulled together for his family.

Southern Monroe Conservation Club members are partnering with Sipes Body and Glass employees to host a benefit dinner and auction along with a coon hunt to raise funds for the family on Saturday, June 19.

The money will be used to help the family pay their mortgage and to help pay for Charity and the girl’s needs.

Dive Christian Church has donated the use of their gymnasium for the dinner and auction. The community has been generous in donating items for the auction.

The event will begin at 4 p.m. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. and will consist of open sandwich, two sides, dessert, and a drink.

The live auction will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Coon hunters need to register for the hunt at the church by 9 p.m. The entry fee for the hunt is $100.
