TURKEY LAKE – At 10:34 a.m. Thursday, Conservation Officers with assistance from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department located the body of Duane Bowman III.
His family has been notified. An exact cause of death is pending autopsy results.
Indiana Conservation officers began searching Little Turkey Lake for Bowman after they were notified of an unoccupied boat adrift on the lake, found personal belongings on the shore, and an unoccupied vehicle with a trailer at the Little Turkey Lake Public Access Site.
Conservation Officers responded to the area and began search efforts. The missing boater was identified as 69-year-old Duane Bowman III, of Howe.
Conservation Officers were assisted on scene by the Lagrange County Sheriff’s Department, Wolcottville Police Department, Lagrange County Code Enforcement, and the Stroh Volunteer Fire Department.
