BEDFORD – The Bedford Planning Department released its monthly report for the month of April. The report shows new residential construction is going strong within the City of Bedford.
A total of $1.1 million in new residential construction was reported, including new home construction on the city’s east side on Fellowship Drive, as well as a duplex being constructed on Lilac Lane.
Despite rising construction costs such as lumber, people are still deciding to build homes.
Commercial permits included several remodels of businesses and churches with approximately $236,117 in construction.
During the month of April a total of 16 permits were issued:
- Commercial permit with inspection – 4
- Commercial permit no inspections – 2
- New residential construction – 7
- Residential no inspection – 1
- Residential with inspection -2
