Registration open for YQCA classes for 4-H members

BEDFORD – Registration is now open for in-person Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) classes for Lawrence County 4-H members.

In order to exhibit beef cattle, dairy cattle, swine, sheep, goats, poultry, and rabbits, 4-H members must be certified through the Youth for the Quality Care of Animals.

This is an annual program that can be completed via online modules or in-person training.

Registration for such training must be completed before the selected training date and can be completed at www.yqca.org. Log in using your 4HOnline email and password.

There are two ways to complete your certification: in-person or online.

Youth may complete the training online at a cost of $12 or they can participate in an in-person training for $3. 

In-person training dates:

  • Sunday, May 9, 3:30-5 pm- Expo Hall on the Fairgrounds
  • Wednesday, May 12, 6 pm- 7:30 pm-Expo Hall on the Fairgrounds
  • Wednesday, May 19, 6 pm- 7:30 pm- Expo Hall on the Fairgrounds
  • Thursday, May 27, 5:30 pm- 7 pm- Expo Hall on the Fairgrounds
  • Thursday, June 10, 6 pm- 7:30 pm- Community Building on the Fairgrounds
  • Monday, June 21, 3 pm- 4:30 pm- Expo Hall on the Fairgrounds
