Two injured in accident at 16th and I streets

BEDFORD – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident Sunday at 16th and I streets.

The accident was reported at 5:23 p.m.

According to a Bedford Police Department report, 78-year-old David Lipscomb, of Heltonville, was traveling east on 16th Street in his 2007 Buick Lacrosse and told police he “must have looked down at the wrong time” and did not notice the stoplight had turned red.

Lipscomb’s vehicle struck the rear of a 2012 Nissan Sentra being driven by 61-year-old Timothy Brittain, of Norman.

A passenger in Brittain’s vehicle 61-year-old Delema Brittain, of Norman, complained of abdomen and pelvis pain.

Lipscomb suffered a contusion and bruises to his elbow and lower arm.

Both were treated on the scene by an IU Health Hospital ambulance crew.
