BROWNSTOWN – The Brownstown Lions Club plans will have a fish fry during the 22 Annual Great US 50 Yard Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until all of the food runs out on May 22.
The Great US 50 Yard Sale is May 21-23.
First starting in Indiana in 2000, the yard sale runs nationwide from Maryland to California.
“I am very excited about this year’s sale,” said national coordinator Tom Taylor in a news release. “We did not promote the sale much last year due to the pandemic. This year, people are anxious to get out, and it could be an exceptional year for sales. This is an opportunity for individuals to clean house, find bargains, and earn money. It is a winner for all.”
All sales are individually organized, Taylor said.
Vendors are reminded not to set up on state right-of-way or private property without permission, and they should allow for off-road parking and consider safety for those leaving and returning to the road.
There are no fees to participate in the yard sale. All local laws apply and should be followed, Taylor added.
The Lions Club’s booth will be set up at Cross and Main streets near the Jackson County Courthouse in Brownstown.
Proceeds from the fish fry will benefit the club’s charity projects.
