
LOUISVILLE – A Louisville mother was arrested after police found the body of her 10-year-old son dead in the trunk of her vehicle.
Louisville Metro Police responded to a home in the 1200 block of Algonquin Parkway just before 8:45 p.m. Tuesday after a report of a woman on a porch with a gun and the body of a boy wrapped in a blanket.

When police arrived they found 28-year-old Kaitlyn Higgins and blood on the porch and steps.
They opened the trunk of the vehicle and found the body of her 10-year-old son. He had suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
Higgins told police she attempted to cut the boy’s tongue out before shooting him. She then wrapped a blanket around him and put him in the trunk.
Higgins was arrested on charges of murder and tampering with physical evidence.
