Board of works approves bids for stormwater projects

BEDFORD – Bedford Utility Director Misty Adams asked the Board of Works to approve a bid for American Pump Repair to replace the lift station with submersible pumps at Edgewood Park.

The bid from American Pump Supply was $73,252. The other two companies that submitted bids were National Water Services with a bid of $85,360 and Straeffer Pump and Supply with a bid of $98,750.

Two bids were received for replacing a 12-inch gravity main from the manhole in the alley between H and I streets on 22nd Street to the manhole located at 22nd and G streets. The lowest bid was submitted by SLB Pipe Solutions at $115,865. The other bid was submitted by ISI at $129,705. The board approved SLB Pipe Solutions bid.

The Board approved Lochmueller Group to perform an environmental study for the Spider Creek and Broadview Lift Station project. The city will determine whether it will be feasible to eliminate one of the lift stations.

This study is not to exceed more than$75,000. This project is one of the final projects the city entered into an agreement with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management in relation to stormwater issues on the westside of the city.
