William H. “Bill” Arthur, Sr., 87 of Bedford passed away on March 31,
2021 at 9:05 PM at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born in Knox County on March 23, 1934, to Moses Arthur and Dorothy (Kelsey) Arthur. He married Nina Maxine Stannard on August 22, 1953, and she preceded him in death on December 28, 2011. Bill retired from General Motors in Bedford in 1993 and was a member of the U.A.W. #440 in Bedford and White River Baptist Church.
Survivors include his children, Bill Arthur, Jr. of Bloomington, two
daughters, Karen (Melvin) Reeves of Springville and Nancy Marcott of
Texas, six grandchildren, Kristina Holobowski, Rebecca Marcott, Amanda
Marcott, Bronson East, Arin (Byran) York, and Brandon Arthur, great-grandchildren, Kaylee Holobowski, Sienna Holobowski, Destiny Simpson,
Maddalyn York, Ella York, Christopher Allen, Anthony Arthur, and Harley
Widner. One brother, Jim Arthur
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nina Arthur, two sons,
Raymond Arthur and Jim East, two grandsons, Nathan Arthur and James
Reeves, four brothers, Clifford Arthur, Laverne Arthur, Oscar Smith and
David Smith in infancy, son-in-law; Terry Marcott
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday April 9, 2021, at Cresthaven
Funeral Home, with Brother Kenny Dalton, officiating, entombment will
follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home.
