Branchville Correctional Facility donates crosses for COVID-19 Memorial

BRANCHVILLE – The incarcerated population at the Branchville Correctional Facility recently donated 40 crosses to a local Catholic Charity in Perry County.

Pictured left are the incarcerated individuals at Branchville Correctional Facility ICI with samples of the crosses they made.

The crosses are to be utilized by Catholic Charities of Perry County as a memorial to those who were lost to COVID-19 in 2020. The crosses were made and painted by Branchville Correctional Facility incarcerated individuals working for Indiana Correctional Industries (ICI) at the Pallet Shop, Sawmill, and Recycling Center.

Each cross made by an incarcerated person will be placed at a memorial recognizing one life lost to COVID-19 over the last year. It is indeed an honor when Branchville Correctional Facility has the opportunity to give back to our local and surrounding communities.
