MEDORA – Travis Thompson is Medora’s newest reserve officer.
Thompson is employed at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department as their transport and correctional officer at the jail.
Medora Town Marshal Mark Stargell is Medora’s only paid officer. He currently oversees two reserve officers and Thompsons will be his third.
The Medora Town Council approved the hiring of Thompson on March 8.
Thompson is a 2012 Seymour High School graduate and attended Ivy Tech Community College studying criminal justice.
In 2019 started working at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department where he qualified in handguns, taser, OC spray, and defensive tactics.
