Bedford man injured in failure to yield accident

BEDFORD – A Bedford man complained of neck pain and was transported to a hospital after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Tunnelton and Vinegar Hill roads, Friday afternoon.

According to a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, 43-year-old Richard Hunter was traveling west on Tunnelton Road and told police he stopped at the stop sign.

At the same time, 31-year-old Jay Moore, of Bedford, was traveling north on Vinegar Hill Road.

Police say Hunter failed to yield the right of way and Moore’s 1998 GMC Yukon struck Hunter’s 1999 Ford F-350 in the driver’s side door.

Hunter was not injured. Moore complained of neck pain and was transported by ambulance to IU Health Hospital.
