(BEDFORD) – The clean-up from the snowstorm continues for residents as they try to get back to normal from last week’s winter weather.
On Friday, Bedford Middle School students went back to school following several days off.
The North Lawrence Community Schools provided a bus for students to be transported from the Bedford Middle School to the Lawrence County Boys & Girls Club Teen Center at the end of the school day because the sidewalk had a large amount of snow and was unsafe for students to walk along busy 16th street.
Today, Bedford Street Department crews cleared the sidewalk from BMS to the Lawrence County Boys & Girls Club Teen Center so students could have a safe and clear path to walk to the facility.
“We had crews start early this morning clearing a path so students could safely reach the Teen Center,” Bedford Mayor Sam Craig said.
Several dump truck loads of snow were hauled away as street department employees used shovels and back holes to clean off the city sidewalks.
