(PAOLI) – Around 9:00 p.m. Paoli Police and Fire Department evacuated residents and closed the traffic around the square in Paoli Tuesday night.
Most of the police activity centered around the south side of the square with members of the Paoli Police, Orange County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police keeping the public away.
Local police could not rule whether the found object posed a risk to the public. It was at that time local police determined to contact the Indiana State Police.
Around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday morning the area was back opened up and everything returned to normal.
