French Lick Man Arrested on Sexual Misconduct Charges

(DUBOIS CO.) – A French Lick man was arrested on a charge of sexual misconduct with a minor and sexual battery.

Indiana State Police arrested 30-year-old Derek Breitweiser on two felony counts of sexual misconduct with a minor and two felony counts of sexual battery.

Indiana State Police Detective Jarrod Lents initiated a criminal investigation on September 29, 2020, after receiving information from the Dubois County Department of Child Services concerning allegations of sexual misconduct with a minor.

Investigators say Breitweiser allegedly engaged in sexual misconduct with a minor under the age of 16 and sexual battery. This allegation took place in Dubois County.

After reviewing the investigation, the Dubois County Prosecutor requested a warrant for Breitweiser’s arrest.

Breitweiser was arrested without incident and transported to the Dubois County Jail.
