Emergency Crews Use Boat To Transport Injured Child

(LAKE MONROE) – The Monroe Fire Protection District used a boat to transport an injured child Thursday, night.

Emergency crews were called to the Cutright Boat Ramp about 9:30 p.m. Thursday after a small child who was hiking injured their ankle.

The child and parent were able to make it to the shoreline where dispatchers were able to locate their location via GPS.

Firefighters used cell phones to make contact with the parent to narrow down their location as it was already dark outside.

The child and parent were located and loaded into the boat and transported back to the ramp were IU Health Ambulance crews were waiting.
