The fire department was on the scene for some time to monitor a large pile of lumber that is sitting close to other wood products and a sawdust pile.
Windy conditions will make extiquishing the fire very difficult.

Despite burn bans in Lawrence County over the last several days fire departments have been responding to illegal burns throughout the county. The National Weather Service issued a notice earlier in the day warning residents of a high fire risk.
The Marshall and Oolitic fire departments were called to an illegal burn at old State Road 54 and State Road 54 in Avoca for a person open burning at 3:47 p.m. That person was asked to put out the fire.
Burn bans remain in 13 southern Indiana counties due to very dry conditions. Should a fire get out of control the person starting the fire could face civil penalties for damages.
