Beam Setting Scheduled Next Week Over I-65 at County Road 200 South Near Columbus

(BARTHOLOMEW CO.) – Milestone Contractors is scheduled to begin beam setting operations next week over I-65 at County Road 200 South in Bartholomew County (south of Columbus) as part of a superstructure replacement project.

Beginning Tuesday evening (Oct. 6), intermittent stoppages will take place on I-65 while concrete beams are placed over the interstate. Stoppages will last up to 20 minutes at a time. Southbound traffic will be stopped Tuesday and Wednesday (Oct. 6-7), and northbound Thursday and Friday (Oct 8-9), weather permitting. Work is scheduled between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night into early morning.

Overnight lane closures will be in place the week following beam setting to install deck pans prior to pouring the concrete deck. Motorists are encouraged to seek an alternate route or allow extra travel time to avoid delays.

C.R. 200 S. will remain closed until the project is completed in late November. Work on Carr Hill Rd. over I-65 was finished earlier this year. Motorists should slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones. All work is weather dependent.
