Madison’s Clint Hearne connected on an unassisted goal with 15:26 left for the game winner as the Stars fell to 7-8 overall and 1-5 in the Hoosier Hills Conference.

The Cubs struck first in the opening minutes as Adriano Martinez scored just 3:10 into the contest. BNL answered with 13:01 left in the first half as Josh Anderson banged home a header off a Uly Mullis free kick.

“We fought back and played pretty well, played hard,,” BNL coach Logan Jackson said. “It’s the story of our season, we just have issues finishing. We couldn’t get one across the goal line, and it’s disappointing because we felt like we dominated the second half.”

BNL owned a 9-7 advantage in shots.

The Stars, who will learn their sectional draw on Sunday, will host Seymour on Thursday.
