(INDIANAPOLIS) – Indiana INTERNnet is accepting nominations for its 15th Annual IMPACT Awards program, a celebration of internship excellence.
The nominations are submitted by the public and winners are chosen by a group of impartial judges.
Indiana INTERNnet is managed by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the program serves as the catalyst for the creation and expansion of experiential learning opportunities, with the goal of retaining the state’s top talent. The IMPACT Awards were launched to celebrate those who have aided in Indiana INTERNnet’s mission by providing high-quality internship programs. The upcoming awards program coincides with the organization’s 20-year anniversary.
Awards will be presented to winners in the categories of Intern of the Year (high school, college and non-traditional), Intern Supervisor of the Year, Career Development Professional of the Year (high school and college) and Employer of the Year. Each award honors an individual’s or organization’s contributions to Indiana’s internship excellence.
“The COVID-19 pandemic did not stop Hoosier students, employers and educators from using internships to teach workforce skills and recruit talent,” says Mike Slocum, Indiana INTERNnet’s executive director. “Celebrating those who did outstanding work under such unique circumstances is a positive takeaway from this unforgettable year.”
For the first time, the 2021 IMPACT Awards will be held virtually. Traditionally held in person, the event shifts to a virtual format to ensure safety of attendees amid COVID-19.
The nomination form is available online and there is no limit to the number of nominations an individual may submit. The submission deadline is November 6, 2020.
