(MAYSVILLE) – Human remains were discovered Saturday in Daviess County.
Daviess County Sheriff’s Department reports human remains were found in the Maysville area near Hawkins Creek, East of County Road 300 West.
The sheriff’s office says the investigation is in its early stages, as forensic testing will be needed before a determination or identification can be made.
The Sheriff’s Department is working with Indiana State Police, Daviess County Coroner’s Office and Prosecutor’s Office are assisting in the investigation.
There is no time frame for when an identification will be made.
The sheriff does say the family of Dan Grannon was notified as a courtesy.
72-year-old Grannan was last seen at 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 3 at his Maysville area home west of Washington.
