Bedford Man Arrested After Stealing From Walmart

(BEDFORD) – A Bedford man was arrested Saturday after police say he switched UPC codes on items from Walmart.

Bedford Police officers were called to Walmart after a loss prevention employee saw a man shopping and noticed there were different UPC stickers on several high-priced items in his cart.

Police say Jeffrey Crowder then proceeded to the self checkout register.

Police say Crowder skip scanned six items and only paid for one item in his cart. He then started to exit the store when he was stopped by the lost prevention employee.

“Crowder was trespassed and given a court summons to appear in court on a charge of theft,” said Chief Terry Moore.
