(SCOTT/JACKSON COUNTY) — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving Inc. plans to close lanes on two southbound I-65 bridges in Scott and Jackson Counties over the next two weekends to complete bridge deck patching. The work is part of a district-wide bridge rehabilitation and repair contract.
Single-lane closures are planned on I-65 southbound over the Muscatatuck River near Austin (MM 35 in Scott County) and I-65 southbound over Mutton Ditch Creek near Seymour (MM 47 in Jackson County). The right lane of each bridge will close from 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14 to 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 17. The left lane of each bridge will close the following weekend, from 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21 to 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 24. Northbound lanes of I-65 will not be affected.
Motorists are reminded to slow down, use extra caution, and drive distraction-free through all work zones. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.
