Virgil Orville Chastain, 86, of Bedford, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born August 27, 1933, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Clyde Clarence and Fleta Marie (Richason) Chastain. He married Emogene Radcliff June 23, 1956.
Virgil retired from Spring Mill State Park and was a member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Emogene Chastain of Bedford; son, Calvin Chastain of Mitchell; daughter, Rosetta Knight of Mitchell; brother, Clyde Chastain, Jr., of Orleans; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren
His parents and brother, Norman Hardin Chastain, preceded him in death.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mitchell Cemetery.
