Swimmer’s Body Recovered From Lake Michigan

(LAKE MICHIGAN) – The body of a swimmer who went missing this morning in the water of Lake Michigan has been recovered.

Authorities were dispatched at approximately 11 a.m. CT to the west end of the beach area of Indiana Dunes State Park after witnesses said they saw a person being struck by a wave and not resurfacing.

Once on scene, multiple agencies began a search. At approximately 12:30 p.m. CT, the body of the swimmer was located by members of the Portage Fire Department. 

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.
