Boys And Girls Club Of Lawrence County Announce 2020 Summer Care Program Opening Date

(BEDFORD) – The Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County will open it’s Summer Care Program on Monday, June 15, 2020. 

The Limestone Unit operational hours of 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, will remain the same as in the past.  However, to ensure all COVID-19 requirements are met, there will be changes to the number of members accepted to attend the club during these summer hours of operation. 

The Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County will accept 27 members during the month of June. Re-evaluation of these terms will occur at the end of June for future months.

Criteria for acceptance into the Summer Care Program will be selected based on the following consideration(s):  

  1. Members of parents and guardians that work away from home and have no other childcare options. 
  2. Members of parents and guardians that work away from home and/or have uncontrolled circumstances due to COVID-19.

After the first 27 members have been selected a waiting list will be created.  Notification will occur immediately upon open availability. 

The ages for consideration are grades K – 5  from the past school year of 2019 – 2020. The cost of the Summer Care Program is $50 per child per week.

Notification of selected members will occur on Friday, June 5.  Further registration confirmation and payment will be needed by Friday, June 12.
