Five questions with Bedford North Lawrence senior Ethan Vaughn
Sport: track; Career choice: actuarial science; College: Purdue
Question 1: What lessons did high school sports teach you?
Vaughn: High school sports taught me to work hard and persevere even when something doesn’t go as planned.
Question 2: Who has been your role model?
Vaughn: My dad has been a role model for me. My dad has always put others before himself and continually challenges himself with new goals. That is what I strive to be like.
Question 3: Can you describe your emotions after the track season was cancelled?
Vaughn: I was kind of shocked how quickly it was cancelled and was definitely disappointed. I worked hard during the winter and early spring to have a great season.

Question 4: What pointed you toward your future career path?
Vaughn: My step-dad mentioned actuarial science to me one evening when I was talking about other financial professions with him. I looked into it and it seemed like a blend of other financial professions, which really appeals to me.
Question 5: As the restrictions are lifted, who’s the first person you wanted to see?
Vaughn: My dad, because he lives in Florida, so I haven’t been able to see him since winter break.
