(ORLEANS) – Orleans has found a unique way of honoring this year’s Orleans High School Senior Class 2020 by turning the town’s period street lamps along historic Maple Street into one giant yearbook.
The banners, which were specially designed by H.D. Graphix, were paid in part by parents and generous donations from community members. The town then agreed to have its employees hang the banners.
The senior tributes will adorn the lamp posts through the month of May and when removed will be given to the individual seniors.
Orleans Town Clerk Robert Henderson said, “We thought this would be a fitting way to be able to honor our graduates who, unfortunately due to COVID-19, had their senior year cut short.”
