(SALEM) – Four Washington County fire departments responded to what was originally an outbuilding fire at 1226 Skylight Drive.
The Pierce-Polk and Salem Fire Departments were dispatched to the blaze at 10:05 p.m. Friday night.
A fire in an outbuilding then spread to a nearby residence.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Department arrived at the scene and were concerned about a missing elderly woman who lived in the residence. However, they were able to find her uninjured minutes later.
The fire spread from a burn barrel located near the outbuilding.
Blue River and Jackson Township Fire Departments were dispatched to help with water supply and fire suppression efforts.
