Fred H. Covey 77 of Bedford passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2020, at 8:15 p.m. at his residence.
He was born in Lawrence County on August 16, 1942, to Carl Covey and Mary (Goldsberry) Covey. Fred married Nancy Brewster on December 18, 1964, and she survives.
Fred was a retired explosive blaster from the coal mines, he was a member of NRA, Bedford American Legion Post #33 and the Sportsman Gun Club, Fred served in the Indiana National Guard.
Survivors include his wife Nancy Covey of Bedford, his mother, Mary Covey of Bedford, one daughter, Mary (Eric) Rasico of Shoals, five grandchildren, Audrey King, Alex King, Ashton Knepp, Austin Rasico, and Ayden Rasico, one brother, Edward Covey of Bedford.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Due to the restrictions in place for the COVID-19 virus, graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Cresthaven Memory Gardens, entombment will follow.
Cresthaven Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
