(SEYMOUR) – Seymour Mayor Matt Nicholson and the Jackson County Commissioners on Friday declared a travel advisory “watch” for the city of Seymour and all of Jackson County.
The restriction is for seven days.
The local travel advisory means that conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. Only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended. Emergency action plans should be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies, and other organizations.
On his Facebook page, Mayor Nicholson posted:
“I encourage everyone to pay attention to this change as the next step is a travel ‘warning’ where travel will be shut down. With your support now we will not have to advance to a warning.”
Nicholson pleaded with residents to use common sense in their social activities.
“We will pull through this. We must band together and be supportive of one another at this time of crisis.”
