(MITCHELL) – Washington Police arrested a man wanted on a rape charge in Mitchell on Wednesday night.
Washington Police served an arrested warrant issued on March 27th on 56-year-old Clyde Berry, of Washington.
The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department learned Wednesday that Berry attempted to purchase a firearm in Vincennes.
With the assistance of Vincennes Police, it was learned what type of vehicle Berry was in.
Later Wednesday night, Mitchell Police and Indiana State Police located the vehicle at a residence in Mitchell.
A search warrant was obtained and Berry was arrested without incident.
