(BEDFORD) – In the midst of uncharted territory with the COVID-19, the White River Humane Society is closed to visitors.
There is an exception to reclaim a pet brought in by animal control. Reclaiming can be done by appointment only. Be sure to bring proof of ownership, such as a rabies certificate, or vet records.
Only one person will be allowed inside at a time for the protection of you and employees.
For questions please call the shelter at 812-279-2457. Leave a clear message and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
To adopt a pet you can visit the shelter’s website. If you find your forever cat or dog you can fill out an adoption application online. You will be notified when your application has been received.
As soon as the stay in place order is lifted, officials hope to resume business as before and once your adoption application is approved you can pick up your beloved new pet.
