Bedford Man Arrested After Crashing into Tree

(BEDFORD) – A Bedford man was arrested Friday after he crashed his vehicle into a tree.

Tyler Henderson

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 38-year-old Tyler Henderson on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated resulting in injury and leaving the scene of an accident.

Henderson was arrested after police were called to the 600 block of Butterfly Lane at 6:56 p.m.

“On arrival, they found a silver 2011 GMC Sierra truck registered to Henderson crashed into a tree,” says Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults.

Henderson’s passenger, 51-year-old Brian D. Lagle, of 177 Riggle Road, was pinned in the vehicle with a fracture to his lower leg.

“The driver of the vehicle (Henderson) left the scene on foot and walked to his residence at 222 Butterfly Lane,” said Chief Deputy Shoults. “He was located there by officers a short time later and taken into custody. “

Henderson refused to submit to a breath test for alcohol and a search warrant was obtained to collect a sample of his blood. The results of that sample are pending.
