No Foul Play Suspected in Bedford Man’s Death

(BEDFORD) – Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore says no foul play is suspected in the death of Bucky Charles.

Detectives began their investigating after officers were called to the 2300 block of 29th Street for an unknown medical call at 4:27 p.m. Monday

“While en-route officers were advised this was a possible self-inflicted gunshot wound,” said Chief Terry Moore on Monday. “Officers arrived and located Bucky Charles slumped over on the couch but breathing. He was transported to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital for treatment. While waiting to be transported by air ambulance he passed away.”

Detectives were notified of the death at approximately 7:52 p.m. by the Lawrence County Coroner.

An autopsy was performed on Charles on Wednesday.

“After detectives followed up, we have no reason to believe any foul play was involved. This was a self-inflicted gunshot death,” Chief Moore added.
