CASA Celebrates 30th Anniversary

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Volunteers from Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) will gather at the Indiana State House on Wednesday, March 4th for CASA Day to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Indiana State Office of GAL/CASA.

The event will be held at the Indiana Statehouse in the North Atrium, on the 2nd floor from Noon until 1 p.m.

The celebration will highlight the importance of advocating for the best interest of foster children, including remarks from Chief Justice Loretta Rush, and allow opportunities for interaction with legislators about important issues facing children.

CASA volunteers advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children whose families are involved with the child welfare system. There are 4,500 CASA volunteers in 69 programs serving 86 Indiana counties. GAL/CASA programs advocated on behalf of 24,340 abused and neglected children in 2019.
