(BEDFORD) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Sunday morning at 16th and M streets.
According to a Bedford Police report, 31-year-old Brittani Adams, of Orleans, was traveling south on M Street in a 2017 Dodge Journey. At the same time, 16-year-old Trista Stigall, of Bedford, was traveling east on 16th Street in a 2010 Chevrolet Colorado.
Adams told police she initially couldn’t remember if the stoplight was red or green when she traveled through the stoplight.
Adams told police she was not hurt but was concerned about her son, 6-year-old Leighton Rooks and 25-year-old Gracee Harden, of Stinesville, who were passengers in her vehicle.
Rooks suffered a laceration to his face and Harden complained of elbow and lower arm pain.
They were transported by an IU Health Hospital ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
Stigall told police the light was green when she entered the intersection. She said she thought the other driver would stop, but by the time she realized she wasn’t going to stop it was too late and she couldn’t avoid the accident.
Stigall was not injured during the incident.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
