Obituary: Jeannette M. (Campbell) Silver

December 10, 1933 – February 9, 2020

Jeannette M. (Campbell) Silvers, 86, of Oolitic, passed away at 1:12 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2020, at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.

Born December 10, 1933, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Fern (McCall) Hawk. She married Carl Silvers on November 23, 1957, and he preceded her in death on November 4, 2002. She retired from Bedford Medical Center in May of 1992 where she was the head cook. She was a member of the V.F.W. Post # 1686 Ladies Auxillary in Oolitic and served a term as president. She was a member of the Gillen Post #33 American Legion, Mitchell Senior Citizens, and the Oolitic Methodist Church. She was a great mom, mamaw, and great-mamaw. She loved baking cakes,
cookouts, and dancing.

Survivors include a daughter, Sue Holmes, of Oolitic; a granddaughter, Carla (Josh) Robbins, of Oolitic; three great-grandsons, Austin, Owen, and Logan Robbins all of Oolitic; a son, Frank (Kim) Goodin, of Ft. Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Rev.
Carson Campbell.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 13th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Millard Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
