Tickets on Sale for The Galactic Gathering IV Fundraiser at Mitchell

(MITCHELL) – Virgil I. Grissom Memorial Inc., the local organization striving to preserve the legacy of Mitchell’s own, Virgil I. “Gus” Grissom, announces another major event in Indiana space history.

On July 17-18, 2020 the organization will host The Galactic Gathering IV. Once again it is proud to be the driving force to reunite the Hoosier-born astronauts at one location.

Serena Maria Auñón-Chancellor is an American physician, engineer, and NASA astronaut. She visited the ISS as a flight engineer for Expedition 56/57 on the International Space Station.

Scheduled to attend at this time are Joe Allen, Serena Aunon-Chancellor, Mark Brown, Tony England, Kevin Ford, Charlie Walker, and David Wolf. There may be other VIPs who attend some of the events. These will be announced at a later time.

In addition to public ticket sales, business/companies are invited to become sponsors for this amazing event. Listed below are the sponsorship levels and what is included with each level.

Picture David Alexander Wolf is an American astronaut, medical doctor and electrical engineer. Wolf has been to space four times. Three of his spaceflights were short-duration Space Shuttle missions, the first of which was STS-58 in 1993, and his most recent spaceflight was STS-127 in 2009.

Mark Neil Brown is an American engineer, retired colonel in the United States Air Force and former NASA astronaut. Brown spent a total of ten days in space, over two five day missions

A table for 8 at the Galactic Gathering Gala Dinner at West Baden Springs Resort and will be seated with an astronaut. There are only 6 of these are available.

Anthony Wayne England, is an American, former NASA astronaut. Selected in 1967, England was among a group of astronauts who served as backups during the Apollo and Skylab programs. 

Challenger Level ($2,500)

A table for 8 at the Galactic Gathering Gala Dinner at West Baden Springs Resort and will be seated with either Mr. Lowell Grissom, Gus Grissom’s brother, or Mark Grissom, the son of Gus Grissom. There are only 2 of these are available.

Kevin Anthony Ford is a retired United States Air Force Colonel and a NASA astronaut. Ford has received a number of special honors and awards, some of which are the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Aerial Achievement Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal

Charles David “Charlie” Walker is an American engineer who flew on three Space Shuttle missions in 1984 and 1985 as a Payload Specialist for the McDonnell Douglas Corporation. He is the first non-government individual to fly in space.
